True Knights Lauches “Immortal Combat” Appeal to Combat Porn

True Knights (www.trueknights.org) has announced the kickoff of its 2006 “Immortal Combat” fundraising appeal. “We hope to raise the funds necessary to help families combat the rampant ‘Plague of [tag]Pornography[/tag]‘ that is out of control in our society” said [tag]Kenneth Henderson[/tag], founder and president of True Knights. “Families everywhere are in constant danger of falling victim to the scourge. It knows no boundaries, age, vocation or gender…EVERYONE is vulnerable.” Won’t you please join this effort to save souls as True Knights strives to reach out and help families who have been affected by the “Plague of Pornography”?
True Knights was founded in 2004 by Kenneth Henderson who was led to the [tag]Catholic[/tag] Church in response to a heart-felt plea to God to save him from his own addiction to pornography; an addiction that was destroying his own [tag]marriage[/tag] and [tag]family[/tag]. Since then Ken has dedicated his own life to helping others who have been affected and infected by the ‘Plague of Pornography.’
The work at True Knights has been recognized as a badly needed ministry by many and the producers at EWTN have featured True Knights founder, Kenneth Henderson on shows like “Life on the Rock” and “The Journey Home” just to mention a few. The Most Revered Bishop Edward J. Slattery, Bishop of the Diocese of Tulsa, has officially recognized the apostolate as a ministry for our times and has vowed his enthusiastic support and blessing of True Knights and the efforts of Kenneth Henderson.
Ken has stated that “everyone knows someone, either a friend or family member who struggles with [tag]sexual impurity[/tag]. This problem is widespread and in a society that is so preoccupied with sex and sexual pleasure, many people, even good Catholic men and women, can become ensnared in the trap of slavery to sexual addiction. In fact, pornography and sexual lust is the number one growing addiction in the world!”
Lust, which includes pornography [tag]addiction[/tag], is a huge problem in our world and is, probably the greatest contributor to the destruction of marriages and families. With the abundance of technological advances and media outlets, the selling of the human body has become big, big business and it feeds on the brokenness of all men and women. More and more children are becoming victims of this attack as well, with the average child seeing pornographic images on the family computer by the time they are eight years old. The mantra of our media is that somehow sex equals love. However, the opposite is true; “lust” hinders and even destroys our ability to truly love.
Even a person who only indulges in lust once and a while can have his life and relationships significantly affected in a profoundly negative way…leading to divorce, an inability to hold a job or maintain relationships.
Ken know this battle all too well, as he was one of those lost souls that almost lost his marriage and family to the forces of darkness and the sins of lust. Ken�s ministry, True Knights is working everyday to help battle for the souls of men, women and children everywhere…for families just like yours! Education is the key. We cannot just sit by quietly and do nothing. Each and every baptized Catholic needs to do what they can to learn more about this issue and what we can do about it.
True Knights has plans of producing books, CDs and a new DVDs series to help educate men and women of the dangers of pornography for themselves and their families, especially on how to protect their children. There are also long range plans of a retreat center, counseling centers, a worldwide True Knights confraternity with a chapter in every diocese and the possibility of promoting a special series of conferences to promote sexual integrity for all Catholic men.

One of the resources that True Knights has available to help men break free is a recovery program available called ‘Combat Training’. Combat Training is personal confidential purity coaching to help men break free of sexual addictions. However, space is limited for personal one-on-one purity coaching, so to help reach even more people who suffer from this issue True Knights has parish based recovery groups called Purity Corps. There are also plans for a support group for wives.
Unfortunately, all of this takes money. The pornography industry is a worldwide industry that brings in almost $60 billion dollars and growing every year. True Knights does not have the kind of resources that are truly needed to be effective, but this is where you can help.
